Mission Statement

Interest in health, wellness, and beauty grows, creating a demand for skilled salon and spa specialists. At Northwest College School of Beauty, our mission is to offer this expanding industry a select group of health, wellness, and beauty professional who “perform with knowledge and confidence.” We offer progressive and learner-centered programs to attain that goal and ensure our graduates’ success.

Our History

  • 1976: The Milwaukie Beauty School opens, later changing its name to Northwest College School of Beauty 
  • June 2005: Our school relocates to the Clackamas Town Center, then goes on to open five more campuses in Eugene, Hillsboro, Tualatin, Medford, and Beaverton
  • 2012: Our students start working behind the scenes in hair and makeup at area fashion shows and other events
  • 2014: NW College is nationally recognized by Modern Salon’s Excellent in Education Program and is a top honoree for Community Involvement
  • 2015: Our Eugene campus moves to Springfield, doubling the education space and providing a more modern learning environment for students 
  • 2023: NW College has six campuses, educating hundreds of aspiring beauty professionals every year

Educational Objectives

We offer vocational training programs that provide our students with the technical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional and personal attitudes necessary for a successful career in the salon and spa industry. We know that college and technical education require an investment of time, energy, and money. We are dedicated to providing you with the training and skills to achieve your goals. Students attending Northwest College School of Beauty receive:

  • Instruction from registered instructors that are certified in all fields of practice they teach or oversee

  • Simulated salon experiences

We have six amazing campuses.

NW College School of Beauty campuses in Beaverton, Clackamas, Hillsboro, Medford, Springfield, and Tualatin. Each campus offers modern facilities and a simulated salon environment where students can expect to work with real clients under the supervision of licensed instructors.

We offer a great range of beauty education courses.

Our college currently offers training in Hair Design, Esthetics, Advanced Esthetics, Barbering, Nail Technology, and Teacher Training. We also offer a Lash Extension certification. Students can take a combination course in Hair Design, Esthetics, and Nail Technology to work toward cosmetology licensure. You can speak to an admissions representative about your career goals and interests, and they can help you pick a course.

We're a nationally-accredited school.

NW College is accredited by NACCAS (National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences) and is licensed by HECC (Higher Education Coordinating Commission). Accreditation provides additional opportunities for federal financial aid to students of our beauty schools, available to those who qualify.
