What You Can Learn in Our Barbering Program

Whether you love to create simple, fresh styles or dream of unleashing your creativity through eye-catching nail art, an education in nail technology can prepare you for your future career. Northwest College School of Beauty has trained aspiring beauty professionals for over 48 years. We use a unique combination of hands-on learning and a student-centered approach to help you build your skills and prepare for the state exam.

In our nail technology program, you can learn how to perform manicures, pedicures, and artificial nail applications. You can also have an opportunity to create and use nail art while exploring enhancement services that can help you maximize your future potential. We encourage students to spend about half of their time working in the student salon to gain valuable skills working with real clients.

Our performance-oriented courses mean you can complete your clock hours while also learning through academic classes, laboratory projects, and practical skill performance. Our curriculum is designed to prepare you to sit for the state exam, so you can go on to work as a licensed nail technician!

Get More One-on-One Experience

We teach nail tech in small groups of students, so you can get more one-on-one instruction to help build and refine your skill set. Our instructors also use group teachings and discussions to help you build a foundation of knowledge. Then you have an opportunity to work on real clients under the supervision of your licensed instructors, so you can learn how to meet client needs and build your confidence as a nail technician.

Your Future Potential in the Industry

We cannot guarantee employment after graduation from our program. However, we support students looking for job opportunities through our Online Career Center and on-site bulletin board. Check these resources often for new opportunities for graduate nail technicians in the local area. We can help you prepare a resume and practice for your interview so you can confidently apply!

Nail Technology Program FAQs

How long does it take to complete nail tech training?

Our nail technology training covers 281 clock hours of instruction. Students can complete this training in as little as two months, depending on their schedule, attendance, and start date. At the end of your training, you can sit for the state exam. After sitting for the exam, you could be ready to enter the industry and start your new career.

Is financial aid available?

Yes, financial aid is available to those who qualify. We are accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). This means our curriculum is held to strict standards, so you can be confident in the education and training you receive. It also means you can access certain federal educational grants and loans, if qualified, to help pay for your education. Talk to our financial aid department to learn more about your options.

Do you offer evening classes?

Yes! We offer both day and evening schedules to help you fit your beauty education around your busy schedule. Many of our students have to maintain their commitment to work, family, and school while undergoing their training, and this flexibility makes it possible. You can talk to an admissions representative to learn more about your scheduling options.

Can I have my nails done at the school?

Yes! We love welcoming new clients into our simulated salon environment. Your nail service may be performed by one of our students while under the supervision of a licensed instructor. As thanks for helping our students refine their skills, you can get your nail service at an affordable rate. Call our front desk to schedule an appointment or to learn about our other salon services.

Enrollment and Admissions Requirements

If you are dreaming about a career in nails, we can’t wait to meet you! Contact our admissions representatives to schedule a campus tour and start the enrollment process for our nail tech training today.

To begin the enrollment process, you must:

Be at least 18 years old
Have proof of completion of high school or its equivalent (such as a GED)
Complete the school admissions forms and informational tour

You must also supply a state-issued ID and a social security card. Other information and a $100 registration fee may be required to secure your spot in the course. Talk to your admissions representative for more details.
