The city’s name comes from the Tualatin River, which weaves through the north of the city and leads to many gorgeous parks and nature reserves. It’s also close to our Tualatin campus! Our beauty school is off of I-5 and I-205, on the shores of Tualatin Lake of the Commons. It’s a picturesque setting for aspiring beauty professionals who want to learn about the art and science of skin, hair, and nails.

Cosmetology

Hair Design

Barbering

Teacher Training
Empower the next generation by becoming a certified instructor. This program is only available to those already licensed in the beauty industry.

If you have been looking for a beauty school in Tualatin, you have come to the right place! Northwest College School of Beauty has six Oregon campuses, and one of our biggest campuses is here in Tualatin on the shores of the lake at Tualatin Commons. Our campus has over 11,000 square feet of education space, including two classrooms and a library with computerized testing system to help students prepare to sit for the state board exams. The Tualatin campus is also home to our Administrative office!
Our facility is set up to give students as much hands-on learning experience as we can. We offer two esthetic treatment rooms for facials, waxing, and microdermabrasion services. The salon floor is equipped with 44 stations, along with two high-end whirlpool pedicure chairs and four nail stations for manicures. Students passionate about obtaining real-world practice while in school may find they enjoy our student salon. We market the student salon at our Tualatin location to the public to bring in diverse clients for hair, skin, and nail treatments. This hands-on, real-world experience is essential for developing better techniques and building those essential customer service skills.

Tualatin Beauty School FAQs
Tualatin delivers the classic Northwest lifestyle. There are tons of outdoor recreation opportunities here. You might spend an afternoon hiking, kayaking, or fishing after classes. You can relax in one of the coffee shops downtown and admire the views of Mount Hood. It’s a friendly community, too, and very welcoming to our students.
We are very fortunate to have our Tualatin campus right on the shores of Tualatin Lake. The city-center space covers three acres, surrounding a beautiful lake that hosts a summer concert series. You’ll love the interactive fountain on the plaza, too! There are some lovely restaurants and coffee shops nearby, too. Our campus sits on the western edge of the lake. Our large building is filled with natural light, so students have lots of space to spread out.
You must be:
- At least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
There may be other requirements depending on your chosen program. Our admissions representative will guide you through the process and help ensure you are eligible for admission during your campus tour.
Simply call our front desk staff and make an appointment! They can answer any questions about our services and provide you with a full list of salon services. Clients can specify what they want to be done with their hair, skin, and nails, and our students will do their best to meet those requests. Students perform all services under the supervision of licensed instructors, who are available to step in and help if needed.
Yes! Our Tualatin campus has plenty of free parking for both students and clients visiting our student salon. Feel free to park in any of the lots to the south or west of the campus.
